Safeguarding policy

The care and protection of children and adults at risk is at the heart of our common life.

Everyone who comes to St Nicholas has the right to be safe.

The Parochial Church Council of St Nicholas takes seriously its duty to protect all who are part of our church community. We are committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and vulnerable adults, and we follow the House of Bishops' safeguarding policies and the practice guidance of the Diocese of Southwark.

Our commitment
  • To care for and protect everyone who is part of our church.
  • To recruit, train and support all those with safeguarding responsibilities.
  • To respond promptly to every concern or allegation that is raised.
  • To work openly with statutory agencies, the diocese and the police.
If you are worried about someone

If a child or adult is in immediate danger, call 999. Otherwise, speak to our Parish Safeguarding Officer, who will listen and help you take the right next step.
